Online Kundli Reading: What Your Astrologer Needs & What to Expect

Astrologer reviewing a traditional kundli chart during an online video consultation

An online kundli reading is simply a Vedic astrology consultation held over WhatsApp, a phone call or video instead of in person. The chart is the same, the astrologer is the same — only the distance disappears. This guide covers what you need to have ready, what a reading can and cannot tell you, and how to get the most out of a short session.

Use astrology as traditional spiritual guidance. It is not a scientific, medical, mental-health, legal or financial assessment. Do not delay qualified care or base a high-stakes health, safety, money or relationship decision on a reading alone.

The three details every astrologer needs

A janma kundli (birth chart) is cast from exactly three facts:

In Vimshottari dasha practice, the starting dasha and its balance depend on the Moon’s nakshatra and precise position at birth. Birth date alone is therefore not enough; time and place matter to the calculation.

These are the core chart inputs. Your questions, preferred language and how you would like to talk help the astrologer plan the session.

What if I do not know my birth time?

You can still ask for a consultation. Tell the astrologer the approximate part of the day — early morning, morning, afternoon, evening or night — and ask whether their practice includes birth-time rectification using known life events or prashna (horary) astrology, which uses the time of the question. Before the session, check a birth certificate, hospital discharge summary or an elder's memory; a narrower time window may allow a more specific traditional interpretation.

What a kundli reading covers

How kundli matching for marriage works

Kundli matching needs the birth date, time and place of both partners. The astrologer may discuss the ashtakoota / guna milan score (out of 36), Mangal dosha and the two dasha sequences according to their practice. Ask for the reasoning rather than relying on one score. Kundli matching is cultural and spiritual guidance, not a measure of relationship safety, consent or long-term compatibility.

How remedies are discussed — and when to be cautious

Traditional remedies — such as a Navagraha homa, Shani or Kuja shaanti, or a Kaal Sarp puja at Trimbakeshwar — may be suggested for a chart interpretation. If an astrologer recommends an expensive ritual, ask them to identify and explain the traditional planetary rationale. You do not have to purchase a remedy from Pandit For You or anyone else, and no ritual guarantees a result.

Frequently asked questions

What details are needed for an online kundli reading?

Your date of birth, time of birth and place of birth. Add the area of life you want guidance on and your preferred language; nothing else is required before the session.

Can I get a kundli reading without my birth time?

You can ask for a consultation using the approximate part of the day. Confirm whether the astrologer offers birth-time rectification or prashna (horary) practice; an exact birth time permits a more specific chart calculation.

What is needed for kundli matching?

The birth date, time and place of both partners. The astrologer checks guna milan (ashtakoota), Mangal dosha and dasha compatibility and explains the result.

Is a remedy puja always needed after a reading?

No. A ritual may be suggested under a particular astrological tradition, but it is optional and does not guarantee a result. Ask for the traditional rationale before buying any remedy.
